The Chamber hosts a number of forums that allow you to get involved with our representational activity.

Chamber Business Forums

The Chamber Business Forums are held across the region, in Leeds, York, Scarborough and Harrogate, at regular intervals. They are the opportunity for you to raise awareness of the key issues affecting your business and voice your opinion on how you think such matters should be resolved, knowing that what is said at these events will directly influence the Chamber’s lobbying and representational activity. Each event will also be an opportunity to hear from the region’s business leaders and policy makers on the main issues affecting local business, regional development and the economy. The outcomes of these meetings can help drive local economic growth, create a sustainable business environment and ultimately, help make your business better.

Business Forum Objectives

  • Identify local issues that are of concern to Chamber members
  • Agree what action will be taken to tackle the issues raised
  • Ensure that local issues become a part of the Chamber’s future lobbying activity
  • Provide members with regular feedback on lobbying activity.

LeedsLeeds Business Forum

The last Leeds Business Forum took place on 13th July at DLA Piper. Speaking at the event was Martin Farrington, Interim Director of City Strategy at Leeds City Council. The minutes from this meeting can be found here .

ScarboroughScarborough Business Forum

The last Scarborough Business Forum took place on 21st July at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, with the topic of public procurement under discussion.
