First Birthday Celebrations At Leeds Golf Centre

Leeds GolfParklane Properties are to celebrate its first anniversary of ownership at Leeds Golf Centre with a public open day, free-of-charge golf and free-to-enter competitions on Sunday 4th March.

In just 12 months, Parklane has transformed the facility as a result of an unprecedented multi-million pound investment programme. Rescuing Leeds Golf Centre from administration in February 2011, the company - better known for its estate agency, student lettings and property development businesses - has upgraded its golf courses, car park and outdoor landscaping, created a new Pro Shop and superb high-tech swing studios and refurbished its changing rooms and shower/WC facilities.

With last week's opening of the stunning Nineteen Bar & Grill completing the club's impressive array of indoor amenities, attentions have now focussed on the start of the golf season 'proper'.

Nigel Sweet, Operations Manager at Leeds Golf Centre, commented: "The Pro Shop is thriving and bringing new visitors to the club yet it is our swing studios and market-leading Academy that are making the biggest waves amongst the local golf community. Together with our PGA-qualified professional coaches, we are making Leeds Golf Centre the number-one location in Yorkshire to learn the game and develop technique."

"Over the last twelve months, our principal aim has been to provide Leeds Golf Centre with foundations that will continue to prove strong in the future. Thankfully, our jewel in the crown - the stunning re-modelling of our Wike Ridge championship course - will possess an abundance of such qualities when it is completed in early May. With six new water features, 40 new bunkers and almost 1000 trees having been moved from plantations into the course, we think the new layout will challenge some of its more illustrious near-neighbours."

Leigh Tasker, Business Development Manager at Parklane, added: "We're tremendously excited about Leeds Golf Centre's future - even more so than when we acquired the business a year ago. Substantiating our claim as being 'The Home of Modern Golf' is something we're all wholeheartedly committed to."

Offering free golf on The Oaks par-3 course, free range balls, free access to the TruSim indoor golf simulator, a prize draw for a Ping g20 driver and free 10-minute clinics in the Academy's high-tech swing studios - not to mention a selection of complimentary drinks and nibbles at the new Nineteen Bar & Grill - the open day represents an excellent opportunity to discover what the revitalised Leeds Golf Centre has to offer.

Visitors wishing to play The Oaks course during the 4th March open day celebrations must contact the Pro Shop to book a tee time - places will be offered on a first-come first-served basis. All other free-of-charge attractions will be available from 9am until 5pm without the need to pre-book; visitors must quote '1st birthday' or items and activities will be chargeable at the normal advertised rate.

For more information about the open day, please contact the Pro Shop on 0113 288 6000 or email info@leedsgolfcentre.com. Leeds Golf Centre will also be demonstrating its indoor golf simulator at the Yorkshire Mafia Conference on 21st and 22nd March - casual visitors to the foyer at Saviles Hall (opposite the Royal Armouries) are most welcome.
