The Chamber is inviting experienced and passionate business people to share their knowledge with individuals looking to set up their own business.
Encouraging new enterprises is key to economic growth and tackling unemployment in2012 and by supporting budding entrepreneurs you are playing your part in driving the recovery of the Leeds City Region.
Through the Chamber's 'Business Buddy' programme you will support individuals looking to set up their own business and help prepare them for trading. It is an opportunity to:
- Share your business skills and experience
- Develop your mentoring abilities & cultivate entrepreneurship
- Improve your links with the local business community
- Directly influence the growth of your economic region
On February 9th, the Chamber is holding an induction workshop to introduce potential 'business buddy's' to the programme. Some of the topics to be included in the first workshop include:
- Clarity about the Business Buddy Agreement between the BB, customer and the Chamber
- How to manage confidentiality and data protection
- Improving relationship building through active listening and effective questioning
- How to establish and maintain support
- Structuring a mentoring session effectively
The event is taking place at White Rose House, 28a York Place, Leeds, LS1 2EZ between 8.30am and 10.30am (Pastries, tea and/or coffee will be provided on the morning).
