Solicitors and estate agents pool resources with a one-stop shop
A FAST-GROWING firm of solicitors has teamed up with an innovative estate agency to offer clients even more services under one roof in York.
Coles Solicitors, which also has offices in Northallerton and Thirsk, is now sharing its Micklegate office with with iglu Estate Agents of York.
Coles’ principal solicitor and managing director, Peter Gibson, said: “We have had a great relationship with iglu right from the very start. Just like us, they are bright, innovative, proactive and are going to shake up the market in York – so the synergies were there.
“They have been thrilled with the service our conveyancing team have been giving them and our clients have commented on how well we work together. In the past, estate agents and solicitors had a mutual distrust of one another but with us it is completely different: we all want the same thing – to get the client moved as quickly and painlessly as possible.”
iglu was set up in 2011 by directors Leigh Wade and Rob Letts, who between them have more than 22 years’ experience in estate agency.
The move provides a prominent city centre office for their successful and fast growing business, complete with easy parking and room to grow.
“We have enjoyed a very close working relationship with Coles Solicitors and decided to collaborate even more closely with a shared office to make things more convenient for our buyers and sellers,” said Leigh Wade.
“This move will enable us to grow our business further and offer a more convenient and pro-active service to all of our customers.”

Coles has seen major investment and development since it was taken on by Peter Gibson almost six years ago, opening purpose-built headquarters in Northallerton and taking on practices in York and Thirsk.
Today the firm is a multi-disciplinary agency, offering clients across York and North Yorkshire, Teesside and South Durham access to personal injury services, will writing, conveyancing, probate, family and employment law services. It employs 18 staff.
