Musical Marrows and Classical Carrots Mark the completion of Urban Splash’s New Green Development
VIP visitors to Urban Splash’s stunning new residential development will find themselves being welcomed in true ‘green’ style this Thursday (4th October) as they’re serenaded by the UK’s only vegetable orchestra.
Musicians playing melodious marrows, classical carrots and squeaking squashes will be out in force as Urban Splash celebrates the completion of its award winning Saxton regeneration project. The party will continue all week as the company throws its doors open to the general public on Saturday (6th October) from 11am.
The special event marks the end of another successful year for Urban Splash, who has managed to scoop both a Housing Design and RIBA award taking the total awards the company has won to 317. Judges of both awards praised developer Urban Splash for its regeneration of the two previously derelict council house blocks, re-using much of the existing building’s structure and creating a model of sustainable living.
Boasting an abundance of outdoor space, the development includes 97 allotments, wildflower meadows and even an orchard, encouraging the local community to step outdoors. Saxton offers all the convenience of city centre life but with all the peace and tranquillity you’d expect from the countryside, this promises to be a new kind of urban space, for a truly ‘green’ community.
