Top national award for Denison Till employment lawyer
A TOP national professional award has been won by a North Yorkshire lawyer.
Denison Till employment law solicitor, Emma Atkins, (pictured) won LawNet Young Lawyer of The Year at the legal network’s annual conference attended by 150 member firm delegates in Kenilworth on Friday 9 November.
Emma Atkins, who lives in York, joined Denison Till in 2006, qualified in 2010 and specialises in advising Yorkshire-based employers and senior executives in all aspects of employment law.
Emma Atkins won after being judged on her work achievements as well as testimonials from her clients and colleagues, all supported by documentary evidence.
She scooped the award, beating off tough competition from other lawyers with up to five year’s post-qualification experience.
The judges said they were impressed by Emma Atkins’ willingness to take on challenging cases and her excellent client care but gave special mention to her “excellent performance” in promoting the firm through online and event- based marketing initiatives.
The judges also considered her commitment to best practice, good organisation and communication skills and her overall contribution to the practice.
Emma Atkins says: “I’m delighted to win this award which is a huge achievement for me and the whole team at Denison Till.”
LawNet UK, founded 20 years ago, is a mutual national network of over 3,000 lawyers and professionals, promoting excellence in member independent law firms throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Denison Till managing partner, Alistair Duncan, says: “Emma Atkins is a rising star in our practice and the Yorkshire legal community. She thoroughly deserves this accolade which further recognition of Denison Till’s excellence in all we do.”
