York Development

The Chamber believes that York must be open to new investment and not oppose developments that create jobs, generate wealth and bolster the economic prosperity of the city and its surrounding districts.

Whilst, no one would suggest that we should compromise York's history and cultural offering, it is important that the council, businesses and residents support development projects that will attract private sector investment and create employment opportunities for the city's young people and retain skilled-graduates.

The Chamber is supporting the proposals for development at Monks Cross and the Community Stadium and we are working with all stakeholders involved in the development during the review process to ensure that the development brings the maximum economic benefits to the city and does not conflict with any of York's existing offering.
